Gaza Siege Is a War Crime
WANA (Apr 25) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip and the large-scale attacks on refugee camps and shelters, describing these actions as “war crimes and crimes against humanity.” He called on the international community to take immediate action to prosecute the leaders of the Israeli regime.
According to Baghaei, the obstruction of humanitarian aid deliveries combined with the bombing of residential areas presents a clear picture of genocide and systematic violence against civilians. He emphasized that Israel must be held accountable for these acts before international courts.
He also condemned the inaction of the United Nations Security Council and held Israel’s military supporters—particularly the United States and certain European governments—complicit in these crimes.
Baghaei went on to describe Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, including drone and air strikes on various regions and the assassination of political and social activists, as further examples of Tel Aviv’s aggressive policy. He underlined the responsibility of the United Nations and the guarantors of the ceasefire to halt these actions.
He warned that continued impunity and the ongoing killing of defenseless civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as violations of Lebanese and Syrian sovereignty, pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Baghaei urged regional countries to adopt effective and coordinated measures to curb the expansionist agenda of the apartheid regime and to prevent further in security.
